Senior UI / Frontend Engineer (React)

About MOV.AI

MOV.AI is a robotics software company developing an autonomy platform for the next generation of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), operating in large-scale industrial and logistics environments. The platform enables fleets of robots to navigate, localize and operate reliably in complex real-world environments, ranging from international airports to large warehouse operations.

Role Summary

MOV.AI is looking for a Senior UI / Frontend Engineer responsible for developing modern, high-quality frontends for its robotics software platform.

The engineer will work closely with the UI / Frontend Architect to transform architectural concepts into production-ready React applications.

The role combines:

  • React & TypeScript Development
  • Frontend Engineering
  • Scalable UI Architectures
  • Modern Frontend Development Practices
  • Automated Quality Assurance
  • Secure Frontend Development
  • Collaboration with Product, Backend, DevOps, QA and Robotics teams
  • User Experience for complex AMR and intralogistics workflows

This is not a UI Designer or Frontend Architect role. The focus is on implementing architecture efficiently and delivering high-quality production code.

Candidate Profile

1. Strong Frontend Engineer

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be an expert in React and TypeScript.
  • Build production-grade applications rather than simple dashboards or websites.
  • Work comfortably in large codebases.
  • Understand component-based development.
  • Understand state management.
  • Integrate APIs efficiently.
  • Optimise browser rendering and frontend performance.
  • Deliver high-quality features quickly while avoiding technical debt.

Candidates focused only on UI design, landing pages or CRUD applications are not a good fit.

2. Frontend Implementation Expert

The engineer should be able to:

  • Work within an existing frontend architecture.
  • Transform architectural concepts into reusable React components.
  • Build complex workflows and data-driven interfaces.
  • Handle asynchronous data.
  • Manage permissions.
  • Handle loading states and error states.
  • Build maintainable interaction patterns.

The expectation is to convert architectural concepts into working software with speed and quality.

3. Quality-Focused Engineer

The candidate should naturally incorporate software quality throughout development.

Expected knowledge includes:

  • Unit Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • End-to-End Testing
  • Code Reviews
  • Static Analysis
  • Dependency Management
  • CI/CD
  • Secure Frontend Development

The goal is to consistently deliver secure, reliable and maintainable software.

4. Hands-on Developer

The role is highly technical and coding-focused.

The engineer is expected to:

  • Write code daily.
  • Develop complete features independently.
  • Debug browser, frontend and API integration issues.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews.
  • Prefer implementation over coordination.

Approximately 80% of the role consists of hands-on software development.

Candidates interested in moving into architecture, management or product roles are not suitable.
