Senior Product Owner (AI Platform, Ontology & Data)
About the client and the project
Regulatory compliance technology company providing an AI-powered platform to global enterprises. The team builds an AI platform covering semantic search, ontology, metadata management, and AI-powered product capabilities, spanning research, integration, and platform domains.
What you will do
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps, priorities, and deliverables for AI, ontology, and data-related product areas.
- Engage with product managers, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to define and execute product vision and strategy.
- Prioritize backlog items related to semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), ontology evolution, and metadata management based on business value and technical dependencies.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple products, ensuring dependencies, ownership transitions, and handoffs are clearly managed.
- Facilitate the transition of initiatives from research and prototyping into scalable product delivery.
- Write user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly define requirements, expected behaviors, and quality expectations.
- Coach other product owners, sharing best practices to support their professional growth.
Must-have skills
- Product Owner experience — 3+ years
- Agile methodologies and prioritization frameworks
- Experience delivering cloud-based software projects
- Knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern software architectures
- Experience with data platforms, metadata management, and information retrieval systems
- Knowledge of ontology management, taxonomy design, knowledge representation, and semantic technologies
- Experience with semantic search, RAG, vector databases, and AI-powered user experiences
- Familiarity with LLMs, retrieval-based systems, and AI governance concepts
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and similar collaboration tools
- English B2
Nice to have
- Experience managing the transition of initiatives from research/experimentation into scalable product capabilities
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
Location and work model
- Hybrid (2 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
