Senior Java Backend Developer (Kafka, Kubernetes)

About the client and the project

Global AI-enabled consulting and software engineering company with hubs across Europe, including Portugal. You will join a backend engineering team building and evolving cloud-based distributed systems, working with event-driven architectures and modern DevOps practices.

What you will do

Design and develop backend services and APIs using Java.
Build and maintain event-driven integrations using Kafka.
Deploy and manage containerized applications with Kubernetes.
Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform on Azure.
Implement GraphQL Federation for distributed API architectures.
Write unit and integration tests following TDD practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
