About the role

Global professional services company with a technology delivery hub in Portugal. The role sits within a production database operations function deeply integrated with Azure cloud services, supporting critical systems with strong technical autonomy across the full DBA lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments with strong operational ownership.
  • Manage Always-On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances and storage account operations.
  • Lead technical resolution of SQL Server incidents, including diagnosis, remediation and root cause analysis.
  • Execute and validate production releases using cloud DevOps and deployment tools.
  • Perform query tuning, T-SQL optimization and execution plan analysis.
  • Administer and optimize Azure-based data and monitoring services.
  • Enforce security, permissions management and audit-quality documentation.

Location and work model

  • Hybrid (2 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
  • No relocation package available

What are we looking for?

  • Microsoft SQL Server — 5+ years
  • T-SQL scripting
  • Always-On Availability Groups
  • PowerShell automation
  • Azure platform experience (Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Monitor, Azure Event Hub)
  • English B2

Nice to have

  • PostgreSQL
  • Azure Database Administrator certification
  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications
  • French and/or Dutch
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services)
  • UrbanCode Deploy, Jira, DBeaver
