About the client and the project

Global professional services company with a technology delivery hub in Portugal. The role is part of a growing international tech hub, supporting cloud-native data engineering initiatives that enable scalable analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What you will do

Design and implement end-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, modeling, storage, and orchestration.
Build and maintain cloud-native data pipelines using Microsoft data platform technologies.
Develop and optimize data warehousing and data lake solutions for performance, cost, and reliability.
Implement data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring practices at scale.
Apply DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, to data engineering workflows.
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, enforcing best practices and technical standards.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, progressively contributing to product ownership and strategic decisions.

Data Engineering — 5+ years

Azure Data Factory
SQL
Python
Spark or PySpark
Data warehousing and data lake solutions experience
DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD
English B2

Azure Synapse
Delta Lake

Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)
RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
Interest in progressing towards a Data Product Management career path

Location and work model

Hybrid (2 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
