Scrum Master

About the client and the project

International banking group with a technology and operations hub in Portugal. A large-scale transformation programme within an international banking group's IT function, aimed at modernizing tools, processes and ways of working across business and technology teams. The team collaborates across multiple European locations.

What you will do

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.
  • Coach teams on Agile methodologies and best practices to optimize workflows and productivity.
  • Act as a servant leader, removing impediments and fostering trust and open communication.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a well-defined and prioritized product backlog.
  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics, driving discussions on continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders to align goals across distributed teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines or deliverables.

Must-have skills

  • Scrum Master experience — 3+ years
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles, frameworks and practices
  • Experience working in an international environment with virtual/distributed teams
  • English B2

Nice to have

  • Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master)
  • Experience in the payments or financial services industry
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Trello or similar tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or related field
  • Availability to travel abroad for short periods, if required

Location and work model

  • Hybrid (2 days/week in the office, Porto)
