Mid QA Engineer (SQL)

About the client and the project

Payments and financial technology company operating across Portugal. The team works on interoperability and integration flows within a payments ecosystem, supporting mobile applications and distributed systems across international development cycles and releases.

What you will do

  • Analyze functional and interoperability requirements, ensuring alignment with development cycles and international releases.
  • Create, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases for mobile applications, distributed systems and end-to-end flows.
  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies (dailies, plannings, retrospectives) and contribute to team task estimation.
  • Identify, report and track defect resolution together with development teams.
  • Validate interoperability rules and integration flows between multiple participants (issuer, receiver, core services).
  • Execute support testing for international partners, including certification, onboarding and evolutionary change testing.

Must-have skills

  • Mobile testing and distributed systems test case creation and execution
  • Payments domain experience or strong interest (e.g., P2P, P2M, digital financial services)
  • Jira and Xray
  • SQL for querying and validating relational databases
  • English B2
  • Portuguese

Nice to have

  • Agile/Scrum practical experience
  • Test automation tools (e.g., Katalon, RestAssured or similar)
  • API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and security protocols (certificates, tokens)
  • Confluence, Bitbucket
  • Previous experience in interoperability or international integration environments

Location and work model

  • Hybrid (3 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
