We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer who is fluent in French to join our growing engineering team. In this role, The consultant will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications.
As a QA Engineer, you will bridge the gap between development and business, designing and executing both manual and automated tests. The consultant will lead the automation efforts using Playwright and manage our test lifecycle within Jira using Xray. The ideal consultant has a strong foundation in QA methodologies, excellent communication skills in French and English, and a passion for automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation: Design, develop, maintain, and execute robust end-to-end (E2E) automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
Test Management: Utilize Xray (within Jira) to create, organize, and manage test plans, test cases, and test executions, ensuring traceability from requirements to defects.
QA Testing & Strategy: Perform manual exploratory, functional, regression, and integration testing on web applications. Define test strategies and test plans for new features.
Collaboration: Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts (mainly in French and English) to understand requirements and define clear acceptance criteria (BDD/Gherkin is a plus).
Defect Tracking: Identify, document, isolate, and track bugs to resolution using Jira.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for continuous feedback.
Continuous Improvement: Champion QA best practices, participate in code reviews for test automation scripts, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Language Skills: Professional fluency in French (both written and spoken) is required, as you will interact with francophone stakeholders and translate business requirements into test scenarios. Professional level of English is also required.
Technical Expertise:
Strong proven experience writing automated tests using Playwright (with Node.js/TypeScript/JavaScript).
Practical, hands-on experience with Xray for Jira for test management.
QA Methodologies: Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes (SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum).
API Testing: Solid experience testing RESTful APIs (using tools like Postman, Bruno, or through Playwright).
Version Control: Proficiency with Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with high attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have / Desirable Skills:
Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber/Gherkin.
Knowledge of performance/load testing (e.g., heavily utilizing Playwright or tools like k6).
ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
