Platform Developer (Python)

About the client and the project

IT consulting and software engineering company operating in Portugal. The team maintains a broad portfolio of infrastructure lifecycle tools and is currently delivering two strategic platforms: a self-service infrastructure portal and a workflow orchestration engine. The role contributes to both platform delivery and the ongoing evolution of the wider tool portfolio.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain APIs and components for internal infrastructure and workflow orchestration platforms
  • Build and maintain workflow automation pipelines and reusable building blocks
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processes
  • Implement integrations between internal platforms and other enterprise systems
  • Manage container image builds and promotion across environments using GitOps practices
  • Analyse existing tools to identify replacement or improvement opportunities, ensuring backward compatibility during migrations
  • Write automated tests and clear technical documentation for developed components, and participate in code reviews

Must-have skills

  • Python
  • Ansible
  • CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Concourse or similar)
  • Git (branching strategies, merge requests, GitOps)
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
  • REST API design and development
  • YAML/JSON configuration and schema validation
  • Linux command line and shell scripting (Bash)
  • English A2
  • Portuguese

Nice to have

  • Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests
  • n8n or similar workflow automation tools (Airflow, Temporal, AWX)
  • PostgreSQL or other relational databases
  • Terraform or other IaC tools
  • OIDC/LDAP authentication and authorization
  • Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)
