Operations Engineer
About the role
Automotive software company built as a joint venture, with engineering hubs in Porto and Lisbon. An operations team responsible for keeping business-critical production services and applications running reliably, acting as the link between IT operations and the factories that depend on them.
What you will do
- Monitor the performance and availability of services and applications.
- Investigate and resolve incidents to minimize downtime for critical operations.
- Work with APIs and interfaces to support integration and troubleshooting.
- Query SQL or NoSQL databases to analyze and support operational processes.
- Communicate with business and factory stakeholders to understand and address operational needs.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuity of critical services.
- Apply basic IT service management, security, and quality assurance practices in daily operations.
Location and work model
- Hybrid (3 days/week in the office, Porto)
What are we looking for?
- Operations experience — 6+ years
- Experience with service and application performance/availability metrics
- Experience with monitoring concepts and tools
- Experience with APIs and related tools
- Experience querying SQL or NoSQL databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Business-driven, proactive mindset
- Good communication skills
- Availability for on-call when required
- English C1
- Portuguese
Nice to have
- Basic programming background
- Knowledge or experience in AI
- Basic knowledge of IT service management
- Basic coding knowledge or software automation experience
- Basic knowledge of Apache Kafka and Kubernetes
- Basic software quality assurance practices
