Junior Software Developer (Java)

About the client and the project

IT consulting and software engineering company operating in Portugal. The role sits within a team responsible for internal tools and applications that support the organization's operations, covering the full lifecycle from architecture and development to maintenance and optimization.

What you will do

Design, build, and maintain internal applications across the full stack.
Own delivery end-to-end, from requirements and design through deployment and support.
Develop and maintain database objects across Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.
Write automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, and VBA to reduce manual effort.
Analyze and refactor legacy applications for quality and performance.
Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications.
Troubleshoot complex issues across applications and databases, including root cause analysis.
