Junior Functional Analyst

About the client and the project

Payments and financial technology company operating across Portugal. The role supports a digital currency initiative, working alongside product, project management and architecture teams to help design and build a new solution from the ground up.

What you will do

  • Gather, analyse and document business and regulatory requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate functional and non-functional requirements into specifications for technical, development and QA teams.
  • Support the definition of business rules, SLAs/SLOs, exception scenarios, incident management and regulatory/operational reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain functional documentation such as use cases, flows and high-level data models.
  • Define and validate acceptance criteria, support the creation of test cases and participate in pilot phases with users and participants.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between business and technical teams, clarifying doubts and managing expectations.

Must-have skills

  • Business Analysis experience, ideally in payments or mission-critical financial systems
  • Ability to write clear functional specifications
  • English B2
  • Portuguese

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of blockchain or digital wallet solutions
  • Understanding of data and integration concepts (APIs, messaging, files)
  • Familiarity with agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and related tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience or knowledge of the payments industry

Location and work model

  • Hybrid (3 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
