Data Architect – Porto | Portugal
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the Aftermarket-wide data architecture and target design
principles.
- Steer and align multiple domain data teams to ensure architectural coherence
and reuse.
- Collaborate with Business Data Analysts to define data product structures,
KPIs, and interfaces.
- Define and enforce data modeling, integration, and quality standards for the
Aftermarket Analytics Platform (AAP).
- Act as primary interface to data architecture and governance to ensure
compliance and synergy.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and best practices supporting
data efficiency and innovation.
- Provide architectural guidance in ongoing projects to ensure scalable and
cost-efficient design.
- Promote unified, business-oriented data architecture across all Aftermarket
regions and functions.
Years of experience
- 7+ years of proven experience as a Data Architect.
Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures.
- Ability to translate business strategy and domain needs into architectural
blueprints.
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, lineage, and governance principles.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills across multiple agile data teams.
- Experience in defining platform standards, data ownership models, and data
lifecycle processes.
- Skilled in aligning cross-organizational stakeholders (Aftermarket, central IT,
and Group Data).
Technical Skills
- Profound expertise in Cloud Data Platform components (Databricks, Synapse,
Data Lake, Purview).
- Advanced knowledge in data modeling (Data Vault, Dimensional, Canonical
Models).
- Experience with pipeline orchestration and integration (ADF, PySpark,
Synapse Pipelines, Qlik...).
- Understanding of data governance and metadata management.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cost/performance
optimization.
- Awareness of data security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in a
corporate environment.
Soft Skills
- Strong communicator and facilitator between business, IT, and central data
organizations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable standards.
- High ownership for architectural integrity and data quality across the
Aftermarket.
- Collaborative leadership style fostering alignment and knowledge exchange.
- Pragmatic, hands-on approach combined with conceptual strength.
- Curiosity for new technologies and a continuous improvement mindset.
