Junior Data Analyst (SQL Server, Access)
About the role
Payments and financial technology company operating across Portugal. Team responsible for the financial control of a cash cycle across multiple operational stages, ensuring amounts match at each stage and that discrepancies are identified, documented and resolved.
What you will do
- Extract data from multiple sources (internal databases, partner files, terminal records, bank statements), clean and consolidate it into a single analysis base.
- Reconcile financial movements across the value chain, cross-checking data from different stages of the process.
- Identify gaps such as value differences, missing movements or settlement delays, and quantify their impact.
- Produce periodic executive reports on gaps found, trends and recommendations, in clear language for management.
- Open and follow up correction requests with internal teams (operations, accounting, IT, partner management) until each case is closed.
- Propose improvements to collection and control processes to reduce recurring discrepancies.
Location and work model
- Hybrid (3 days/week in the office, Lisboa)
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Statistics or Data Analysis
- SQL Server and T-SQL — writing complex queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries), creating views and simple procedures
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query)
- Access (queries, table relationships, data import)
- English A2
- Portuguese
Nice to have
- VBA for automating extractions and recurring reports
- Knowledge of information systems architecture and integration methods (ETL, APIs, batch files)
- Proactive, results-oriented profile with strong interpersonal skills and comfort working under pressure with sensitive financial data
