What is this challenge about: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from multiple sources.

  • Build and maintain robust data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop Python-based solutions for data transformation, orchestration, automation, and data quality validation.
  • Implement and maintain data models, schemas, and storage solutions to support business analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Integrate testing practices into the data engineering lifecycle, including UAT, QA activities, data validation, and release readiness assessments.
  • Ensure data reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and data quality controls.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including access control, encryption, and IAM policies.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, runbooks, and test plans.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with emerging GCP services and promote cloud-native data engineering best practices.

What we are looking for: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;

  • +5 years of experience in Data Engineering roles;
  • Strong Python development skills, including software design principles, testing practices, packaging, and performance optimization;
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow / Apache Beam, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow;
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience designing and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and scalable data pipelines;
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modelling, and schema design, including star and snowflake schemas;
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Cloud Composer, or similar scheduling platforms;
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines;
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git;
  • Exposure to testing methodologies, including UAT, QA testing, test planning, data validation, and test automation;
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and Agile teams;
  • Living in Lisbon or Porto (hybrid role);
  • Fluent level of English.
